Getting ready to sell gold

I know I need some money and I know how to get it. Last year I inherited a large amount of gold jewellery from my family. I have just gathered it all in one place and I"m trying to decide if I should sell gold or not, or what I should save for myself. To be honest, a lot of things seem too beautiful. I"ll never be able to get rid them. Take the gold rings, for example. They are made of genuine gold, are shaped like two little snakes with little precious stones at the end. I believe it"s malachite. How could I sell these earrings? They are little pieces of art. I take another item in my hand. It"s an old necklace. Not my style, really, I would never wear anything old-fashioned. But apart from that, it looks impressive. It is made of a chain with big, irregular links and a pendant with a little obsidian. I know this is snowflake obsidian because I have a similar one in my small collection of gemstones. I put the necklace aside. I will not wear it, and I really need money, so I guess I will have to sell it anyway. I will keep the earrings for myself, though. There are some more items in the pile, but they are basically scrap gold. I think I will sell gold as soon as I manage to estimate its value. I might ask an expert first.
